Podmate v0.5.4!

With this new Podmate update, the Multicam Export feature gets a big improvement. Making it simpler and easier to use. The update also comes with a bunch of reliability improvements.

Podmate gives you an automated edit, with the option to export it into the Davinci multicam tool. Which is the fastest workflow for revising your edit.

The benefit of the multicam tool is you can use the number keys on the keyboard to switch angles.

Tapping 1, 2 or 3 on your keyboard lets you change angles on your clips

It also let’s you see all your angles at the same time in case there’s an opportunity for a cutaway.

But the first version of the Podmate multicam export was too complicated of a workflow.

When you wanted to change how your camera angles looked, you actually had to do that in 2 or 3 different places.

If you wanted to change the zooms or your clips, you previously had to do it in 3 places. Adding complexity to your workflow.

Changing zooms in 3 spots added unnecessary complexity to the workflow 🙁

That adds complexity, and every additional step is a chance to miss something. Especially with the pace you’re working at as an editor.

But with this update, the multicam workflow is drastically simplified. So you can keep your workflow tight and reliable for your clients.

Now after this update:

To change how the clips or splitcams look. You simply right click on the labeled clip in the media pool. Open it in timeline. Change your angles to look how you want. And voila – it’s updated across your entire footage.

Another request some of you guys had:

The request was to improve the visibility of what angles the AI edit chose.

This visibility would be helpful while revising your edit.

This is made possibly with Davinci Resolve, by simply extending the video track up. Giving you added visibility so you can complete your revisions faster!

How the Davinci Multicam Workflow works

As a quick reminder of how the Multicam Tool works:

So you can use 1, 2, 3 to make cuts, or hold Option and use 1, 2, 3 to change the whole clip.

And make sure you click this button so you’re cutting only your camera angles, and not your audio too.

This update comes with some really useful bug fixes as well.
