A tool like Autopod for Davinci Resolve

Is there anything like Autopod for Davinci Resolve podcast editors? Yes there is.

Autopod is a tool that makes editing a video podcast alot faster. Saving podcasters and editors a lot of time.

It does this by automatically cutting to the camera angle of the active speaker. Instead of the editor having to manually make the cut themselves.

But as of the early 2024, Autopod has no public timeline for releasing on Davinci Resolve. It’s still exclusive to the Adobe Premiere editing software.

So is there an Autopod Alternative for Davinci Resolve users?

Now there is.

Podmate is a tool, with no connection to Autopod, that has similar functionality.

It helps people automatically edit a podcast on Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro.

It’s available now on Windows, and will by coming to Mac in the near future.

It can automatically edit a video podcast with 3 different angles.

  • Host 1
  • Host 2/Guest
  • A split-cam view showing both hosts

It’s priced comparably as an Autopod alternative, except you don’t have to pay for Premiere Pro.

  • Podmate $29/mo
    • Totaling $29/mo, if you’re using Davinci Resolve for free.
  • Autopod $29/mo + Premiere Pro $22.99/mo
    • Totaling $52/mo, for combined Autopod and Premiere Pro.

You can apply to join the early access beta here. And test out the software for free!
